New research from economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York finds that this retirement savings deficit hasn’t made a dent in when Americans plan to exit, or partially exit, the workforce. “The pandemic-induced change in retirement expectations may continue to affect the labor market in years to come,” they wrote. Yes, but: This is a survey of expectations, researchers at the New York Fed are quick to point out. The company with the best leadership in the U.S. isn't a tech titan or hospitality giant: It's management consulting firm Bain & Company. That's according to Glassdoor, which released on Tuesday its inaugural 50 Best-Led Companies ranking. The list measures how effectively bosses communicate and foster healthy company cultures, based on the workplace review website's anonymous employee ratings. Beyond Bain, the tech industry does occupy much of the list — 12 companies, more than any other sector. ☆ Fintech firm Klarna says 90% of its employees are using generative AI daily

Swedish financial technology company Klarna said Tuesday that nearly 9 out of 10 employees in its 5,000-strong workforce are now using generative artificial intelligence tools in their daily work. Klarna, which lets individuals split their purchases into interest-free, monthly installments, said over 87% of its employees are using generative AI tools, including OpenAI's ChatGPT and its own internal AI assistant. The biggest users of generative AI in the company are those in non-technical groups, such as communications (92.6%), marketing (87.9%) and legal (86.4%), Klarna said. At those rates, Klarna is seeing much higher adoption of generative AI within the company than in the broader corporate world. Klarna has its own internal AI assistant, called Kiki.

☆ Cyberattack forces major US health care network to divert ambulances from hospitals

CNN —A major US health care system said Thursday that it is diverting ambulances from “several” of its hospitals following a cyberattack this week. The sprawling health care network, which also owns 40 senior living facilities, said that it would be using “downtime procedure for some time,” because of the cyberattack. It was not clear how many Ascension hospitals were sending ambulances to other locations because of the cyberattack. It’s only the latest major hacking incident that has hobbled a big US health care network and sent US officials scrambling to offer support. A February ransomware attack on Change Healthcare, a subsidiary of health care giant UnitedHealth Group, caused billing disruptions at pharmacies across the US and threatened to put some health providers out of business.
